Staff and local residents were honored by the presence of royalty on 8th December, when HRH Prince Edward officially opened the Platinum Medical Centre.
Before he stepped inside the centre, the Prince stopped to chat with the crowd of people who had waited out in the cold to wish him well.
HRH was greeted by Keith Hague, CEO and Westminster deputy Lord Mayor Cllr Cyril Nemeth, before being taken on a tour of the centre. With six floors comprising 50 consulting rooms, state-of-the-art imaging, theatre and cancer care facilities – there was plenty to occupy the Prince. He conversed with patients and staff and was impressed by the high caliber of staff and the advanced equipment and technology available to patients.
Unveiling the plaque he spoke of the new centre’s popularity, saying,
”Thank you very much for inviting me to come and see the building and meet some of the patients and staff, all of whom seem to give the building a massive thumbs up”
“A big congratulations for all those who put it together in what seems like a short period of time. I wish you all the luck in the future.”
The ultra modern Platinum Medical Centre was opened to the public in May last year, after a 12 month renovation period, transforming it from offices to a state-of-the-art hospital. It provides extensive outpatient services, including cancer services, day surgery theatres and the very latest imaging technology. And alongside some of London’s most renowned consultants, nurses and therapists - it has become a popular choice among the North West London community and beyond.
