With breast cancer being one of the most highly diagnosed cancers among women in the UK, not only is it imperative for women to regularly check their breasts, but to have easy access to first-rate services too.

Next month the new Breast Cancer Unit at The Wellington Hospital opens, where patients will be offered a premium service, delivered by leading breast cancer consultants.  We are also pleased to be one of the few institutions who can offer a female led consultant service should you prefer.

The specialist team will include breast surgeons, reconstructive breast surgeons, clinical and medical oncologists, dedicated breast radiologists, pathologists and a breast cancer nurse specialist.  This multi-disciplinary team will work closely together, combining their specialist knowledge and expertise to provide patients with an exceptional one-stop service.

This service will be supported by the latest imaging technology which is vital for early detection and improving outcomes.  This includes digital mammography, the latest ultrasound optimised for breast imaging, 3T breast MRI imaging, MRI biopsies and full pathology services.

Using this cutting-edge imaging equipment will decrease waiting times and speed up diagnosis, and can potentially reduce the amount of times a patient may need to be scanned.

This service will be available at The Wellington Hospital in St John’sWood.  In addition we can also provide mammography and ultrasound services at the Wellington Diagnostics and Outpatients Centre, Golders Green.
