The Wellington Appeal takes on Ben Nevis
By: The Wellington Team | Published: May 26, 2011
On 21st May a team of Wellington fundraisers set off to conquer the dizzy heights of Britain’s highest peak, Ben Nevis. The team included our CEO, Mr Keith Hague, our CFO Catherine Hanrahan and some of our top consultants, Mr Rupert Eckersley, Mr Ellis Downes, Mr David Floyd, Dr Nigel Kellow, Professor Ernest Schilders, with Mr Richard Villar making a guest appearance.
In very wet and windy conditions the team managed to climb the 4,409 feet (1343m) to reach the very snowy summit. The team made the climb and all returned in 6-8 hours, which was a fantastic achievement in such challenging conditions. Although it was a tough a climb, it was in aid of a good cause, raising vital funds for the JDRF and The British Red Cross.
The Wellington Hospital continues to raise funds and support these two great charities in their work in the UK and overseas.
